Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Pitch Finder (roofpitchfinder.com) handles information when you use the free roof-pitch tool and the optional metal building quote form. Plain English first; legal basics for California and other U.S. users follow.
Who operates this site

What we collect
Measuring (camera tool)
- Measuring is free and does not require signup.
- Camera video is used only in your browser for the live overlay. It is not uploaded or stored by this app for pitch measuring.
- Device orientation may be used locally for the on-screen level.
Quote / lead form (optional)
If you request a free metal building quote, we collect what you submit, which may include:
- Name, phone, ZIP / postal code
- Email and a short note (optional)
- Selected roof pitch, page URL, and submission time
- Bot-protection token (e.g. Cloudflare Turnstile) when enabled
That data is sent to the site operator (and any form/email provider configured for the Site) so someone can follow up about a metal building quote.
How we use information
- To respond to quote requests and related customer service
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site (including spam/bot protection)
- To comply with law if required
We do not sell personal data
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share lead form data with third parties for their independent marketing except as needed to run the Site (for example, a form host or email delivery service that processes data on our behalf), or if you ask us to, or if the law requires it.
Cookies, analytics, and similar tech
This app does not currently ship built-in analytics. If we later add cookies, analytics, or similar tools (for example Cloudflare Web Analytics or a basic traffic counter), we will use them to understand Site usage and reliability—not to sell your personal data. Essential cookies or local storage may be used for the tool itself (for example demo-mode lead copies on your device).
How long we keep data
Lead form submissions are kept as long as needed to follow up on quotes and run the business, then deleted or archived according to ordinary business practice, unless a longer period is required by law. Demo-mode copies stored only in your browser stay until you clear site data.
Security
We use reasonable measures (HTTPS, optional Turnstile bot checks, careful form endpoints). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child submitted data, contact us and we will delete it.
California and U.S. privacy basics
If you are a California resident (or similar state privacy laws apply), you may have rights to:
- Know what personal information we collected about you
- Delete personal information we hold (subject to legal exceptions)
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of “sale” or certain sharing — we do not sell personal information as described above
- Non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights
To exercise these rights, email jj@metalbuilding.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We aim to respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (often 45 days for CCPA-style requests).
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes may also be noted on the Site.
